| Motorcycle Ride to Lake Buchanan
September 2007
We had a great day - we
thought we wouldn't get to go - there was a hurricane coming on shore in
Galveston and looked like it may head west but we lucked out - it veered off
to the east and left us some great weather. It was the first cooler and less
humid day of the season and made for some good seat time. There were 6 of us
as were cursing along taking in some new roads. We ended up in Burnet at
about 11 and took a break - Ken and Russ said we should head back so we
could make the 12:30PM lunch meeting at the world famous Rattle Snake Inn so
we didn't complete the last part on the run out to the lake but we still had
lots of fun :o}.
PS: Bob Klark and I went back over the route and finished the Route
116-Hoovers Valley Rd on to Park 4 - the lower part of this road is as curvy
as Park 4 hwy and as fun to ride - the 690 to 2341 leg is also a lot of fun.
