The Sun City Texas Motorcycle club's
mission is to have a friendly and safe
environment for Sun City residents to enjoy riding motorcycles and socializing.
Here's a short day trip for a nice
ride to Stillhouse Hollow Lake.
Stillhouse Lake is just
south east of Killeen and south of Lake Belton. The ride will take you
through some pretty ranch lands and on up to the lake on some nice curv'y roads.
233 has a
lot of tight turns but is a newly paved and can test your cornering prowess.
Eagle Nest road
has a nice surprise when you get closer to the lake - you go over a crest with a
great view
of the landscape and lake. You can also take a side trip by continuing down 2484 going about
10 miles
and take a left at the dam road 1670 to the dam. as a side trip you can also
continue down
2484 to Solado and eat or visit the many shops in town and then double back to
Stillhouse Valley Road.
- Right on Williams Drive (2338)
- about 3.5 miles turn right at 245
- about 3 miles turn right at stop sign on 241
- about 2 miles turn left on 195
- about 2.5 miles
turn right on 233
(this road is a very twist'y and leads to 487) - about 3.5 miles turn left at the Tee on 487
- about 3 miles
turn right at 2843
(here's 2 ways to go)
a more interesting ride
2 miles turn left at 231 "firefly Valley road"
(which turns into Stillman Valley Road at the Tee)
about 3.5miles turn right at the Tee on to Stillman Valley Road
about 1.5 miles turn right at Cedar Valley Road
about 2 miles turn left on Crows Ranch Road
about 4 miles turn left on Eagle Nest Road
(this road goes over a nice hill and has a nice over look of the north end of the lake)

A more straight shot would be
instead of turning left at Firefly go
about 5 - 6 miles turn left at Cedar Valley Road
about 1 mile turn right at Crows Ranch Road
about 4 miles turn left at Eagle Nest Road - about a 1.5 miles turn left at 2484
- about 6.5 miles turn left at Stillhouse Valley Road
- follow Stillhouse Valley Road to 195
- left at 195 and about 1 mile and you'll hit Florance
- at the light at the far side of town .5 miles turn right at 970
- about 1.5 miles turn left at 242 which turns in to 245
- about 4.5 turn
left at 2338, Williams Drive
and come home
